Demographics & Distribution
Demographics are the quantifiable statistics of a given population. Demographics are also used to identify the study of quantifiable subsets within a given population which characterize that population at a specific point in time.
Marketers typically combine several variable to define a demographic profile, as illustrated below. This profile is to represent a typical member of this subset group purely as an example to assist in creating a clear picture of their respective community. These statistics do change on a regular basis.
Demographic profiling is an exercise in generalizations, as such individuals within these groups may not conform to the profile.
